Kindly note that no new applications for the purchase/lease of Council-owned land are been accepted at this stage in terms of a resolution of the Management of this Company.

At present an audit is being done of all available Council-owned property that can be sold by way of an open public tender process as stipulated in the Municipal Finance Management Act, 56 of 2003 (MFMA).

It should however be noted that requests for the permanent closure of portions of roads, road reserves and parks can be considered if it is required to form part of a new development or other purposes. Johannesburg City Parks (SOC) Ltd and Johannesburg Roads Agency (SOC) Ltd must however support the proposed purchase of the property.
